The Adams Twins 2015 Update

Thank you to the Happy Smackah for giving us inspiration and hope! We have been blessed with so many people from our community and we hachicks 2ve to thank the Happy Smackah for that.

A lot has happened to us since the Happy Smackah in 2012. I, Kaylee, received a kidney transplant on March 17th, 2013 and it has changed my life. I have never been healthier and continue to be healthy.

I connected with my donor family, who lost their son at the age of 25 donor familyto give me life again. They are the most incredible people and we have added them to our family. I still have to take medications for the rest of my life but far from what I had to take before.

Aubree and I are finishing up our freshman year at CSU Pueblo and we love it! We have selected our majors and are working towards them. Aubree is going into Athletic Training and I am going into Business and Marketing. Maybe someday we will open a gym together.

IMG_7031We try not to let this disease get the best of us and run our lives but sometimes we have no choice. We still have that fear of failure, me with my new kidney and Aubree not knowing when or if she will fail. Our hope is “never”,  but in fact Aubree is having some regression with her kidneys now.

Still,  we will always stay strong. We have a great support through family and friends!

chicksI hope everybody has an opportunity to join in the Happy Smackah and support Kelly and her family this year. It is a run that will change your life and change your views on the community of Longmont. Our Longmont community is truly amazing!

Register today and tell all your friends!

I hope to see everybody there and God Bless!

As the donor family for Kaylee, we are so proud of not only these two girls but what this family has gone through as well. Yes we lost our son but we have also gained an amazing family and have become part of that family. We are here for you any time you need us and proud of it. We will be happy to be part of the Happy Smackah this year and we can’t wait to see you there!!
